Sheila curated an exhibit showcasing San Francisco's culinary delights, from the Gold Rush to Slow Food, on display through March 20, 2011, at the San Francisco Main Library, 100 Larkin St. (at Grove).
Check www.sfpl.org for library hours. This exhibition includes menus, historical photographs, an array of food writers, cookbooks and culinary history, ephemera such as coasters and matchbooks, and San Francisco food inventions, including gadgets and signature dishes. Exhibition is on view in both the Jewett Gallery, Lower Level and Skylight Gallery, Sixth Floor.

I have to admit, I’m completely fascinated by eating disorders. Fascinated in a car-crash type of way: I want to learn everything I can about them, I can’t look away from any literature I can find on the subject, but the entire idea of starving oneself makes me so sad and almost sick to my stomach. So when I was approached about reviewing Hungry, I absolutely jumped at the chance.
